Day Zero (part two)

Jesse had an OK afternoon, he's not eating but he is drinking and is incredibly well considering. We've just been looking at the blog and Jesse has a message for Leo. He does believe in Poochiella Puddleduck and he thinks Kipper might like her. Kipper does have the appropriate footwear and goes bowling sometimes in the night. He may take Poochiella to the Caribbean.

Hello Jess, today I was walking along a road in London with Rick when I came across a shop which sells all things to do with soldiers from history! I told the man that I knew a person who was interested in soldiers - not to mention being very brave and soldierly himself right now - and he recommended that you have a look at his website. Actually, a visit to his shop would be much more fun when you are able to leave hospital. In the meantime you can see all the interesting helmets, belts, boots etc he has. In fact, you would love the helmet section! We have got you a badge from a real first world war soldier in the engineering corps which we look forward to giving you soon (it probably has antique bugs all over it). By the way, a rather lovely dog also lives in the soldier shop although I forgot to find out his name for you - sorry.
I hope that lovely red bone marrow likes living in your body and starts to give you lots of strength very soon. Loads of love Maggie and all Giblets xxxxx

Hi Jesse
Wow - we're all hoping that you don't feel too yuk - can't believe what a star you are - we have tried to find some good jokes for you but everyone elses have been much much better than ours so far, but here goes ...

Q. Why did the farmer plough his field with a steamroller?

A. Because he planned to grow mashed potatoes.

Ok - the next one is even worse!!!

Q. What do you get if you cross a tarantula with a rose?

A.I don't know but I wouldn't try smelling one.

Love Loads

Hello Jesse,

You looked like you were being really brave whilst having your transplant, mate. I don't think I would have been that brave!
I'm sorry you felt a bit rubbish when you woke up, I'm sure you'll be feeling alright soon.

I love you so, so much jesse.

I love you aswell, mum.

xxxxxxxxxxxx

P.S. I think kipper went on a quick trip to china when you were sleeping after your transplant, because I got another strange picture in the post! He told me in the postcard (it was very hard to read all of the woofs - you might have found it easy, but I can't read woofs and pawprints well!) that you were being really good in hospital.

I believe in Poochiella Puddleduck too and have sent mum an email with a picture of another half dog half duck so that kipper can see what she might look like. No kisses Ruth

Hi Jesse,

Your blog is the top one on the internet and I've been laughing a lot reading the jokes but best of all I like the lovely photographs of you and I always notice your dogs with you. I hope you wake up tomorrow feeling good.

Such exciting news that Bernie is walking. I hope he and Derek get well soon.

Our dog is getting a bit jealous about your Caribbean holiday, but I told him he can't go too because he doesn't have a passport.

Thinking about you lots and sending some grateful thoughts to the lovely man in Germany too.

Love, not Red Ruth

You are quite fantastic Jesse and the bravest person I know - far braver than me. Thankfully the really nasty part of your treatment seems to be over and now you will have to be very patient patient until you are well again. I know you will soldier through it all with that special brand of tough good humour that we all admire you for.

I was looking at the beach here yesterday and it reminded me of a really corny joke that I thought you might like: Question - Why do people never go hungry in the desert? Answer - Because of the sand which is there. (Venetia didn't get it until I told her to say it quickly, but then she is a New Zealander and sees everything upside down)

Hoping that you will be feeling better soon.

Lots of love from John and Venetia.

Great to see those pictures of the actual thing you've been waiting for at last! They really helped us to see what was going on more clearly. Hope you're not feeling too bad. Lots of love from us all,

hey jesse,
you are really unbelievable how you managed the chemos. when fischer had his and we visited him daily he sometimes threw us out after a few minutes, cause he felt so awfull. most of my homemade, organic and really hardwork to prepare food (you must know i canot cook and had a broken thump and a 2 month old baby at that time) he did not eat cause the spices made him sick or he felt like just having something to drink that day or what ever reason. may be grown ups and exspecially man are just lousy patients. fischer thinks you are a hero how you manage and he just knows what that means.
lots of strength and love from us maike

Hi Jesse
This is the two girls from down your old road.We have some jokes for you.

Knock Knock!
Who's there?
Boo!
Boo who?
No need to cry it's only a joke.

(And you don't need to cry either it'll all be over soon.)

John got a parrot for his birthday. It was very rude and said lots of swearwords. One day it said such a bad word John shut it in the fridge. There was alot of squaking then it went silent. John opened the fridge to find out what was wrong. The parrot was trembling from head to foot.
'Please,' He whispered,'I'll be good. Just don't do to me what you did to that poor, poor chicken.'

Holly is looking through the jokebook for more jokes.

Why did the farmer plough his feild with a steamroller?
Beacuse he wanted to grow mashed potatoes!

That joke book is rubbish. But Holly is throwing them in my face.

How did the baker get and electric shock?
He stood on a bun and a currant ran up his leg.

Okay, Holly, THAT'S ENOUGH!

Lots and lots of love, Niamh and Holly.

Hi Jesse,
We've all been thinking of you, and it sounds like you've been an absolute star!
We're keeping fingers crossed (except Mollie, because she doesn't know how to do that yet!) that everything will go really well for you, and that your new bone marrow will start to do its job really soon.
Lots of love and hugs,
Simon, Rachael and Mollie xxx
